Posttraumatic facial nerve paralysis (FNP) is a relatively rare clinical entity. Road traffic accidents and missile injuries that result in temporal bone fractures are the causes of posttraumatic FNP. FNP may appear suddenly or delayed in onset. The nerve is stretched, compressed, crushed, or divided, which results in the immediate FNP.
