Targeted Proteomics upon Treatment with Tofersen Identifies Novel Response Markers for Superoxide Dismutase 1‐Linked Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis

open access: yesAnnals of Neurology, Volume 98, Issue 6, Page 1318-1334, December 2025.
Objective Tofersen is the first effective and approved therapy for superoxide dismutase 1 (SOD1)‐associated amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS [SOD1‐ALS]). Following treatment with tofersen, neurofilament levels in patients' cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) and serum seem to respond earlier than clinical parameters.

Activation of Calcium/Calmodulin‐Dependent Kinase II in the Medial Prefrontal Cortex Mediates Spinal Cord Injury‐Related Cognitive and Affective Changes

open access: yesBrain and Behavior, Volume 15, Issue 12, December 2025.
Research has documented a high prevalence of cognitive and affective impairments in individuals with spinal cord injury (SCI). Our findings suggest that CaMKII activation in the mPFC might play an important role in mediating negative emotional states following SCI.

Syncope in a 76‐Year‐Old Male as the Initial Manifestation of a Large, Space‐Occupying Frontotemporo‐Parietal Arachnoid Cyst

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 13, Issue 12, December 2025.
ABSTRACT Examination of a first‐time syncope in a 76‐year‐old man revealed a large, space‐occupying arachnoid cyst almost completely occupying the left frontal, parietal, and temporal lobes and showing a midline shift to the right. Syncope can be the initial clinical manifestation of a space‐occupying arachnoid cyst.

The Use of Parabulbar and Sub‐Tenon Injections to Correct Isolated Resistant Diplopia in Patients With Generalized Myasthenia Gravis: A Long Road to Clinically Meaningful Success

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 13, Issue 12, December 2025.
Changes in ocular alignment following parabulbar betamethasone in myasthenia gravis. Paired images obtained before and after parabulbar betamethasone (0.5 mL per eye; April 22 and May 6, 2025) demonstrate improved horizontal alignment and reduction of vertical deviations in primary gaze, upgaze, right gaze, and left gaze.

Myasthenia Gravis in a Child With Schimke Immuno‐Osseous Dysplasia: A Case Report

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 13, Issue 12, December 2025.
ABSTRACT We report a rare association between Schimke immune‐osseous dysplasia and myasthenia gravis. Clinicians should be aware of potential autoimmune neuromuscular complications in SIOD, as early recognition and tailored immunosuppression may improve prognosis.
