An aminostratigraphy of the northern Upper Rhine Graben, Germany
ABSTRACT The northern Upper Rhine Graben (Germany) contains a complex, quasi‐continuous Quaternary record, but constraining its chronology is challenging. This study presents the first application of amino acid geochronology for this region using Bithynia opercula to establish a relative dating framework.

ABSTRACT The physical, sedimentological, mineralogical, and elemental geochemical properties of sediment cores collected in Smith Bay (22BC and 01PC), and near the front of Mittie Glacier (23BC and 01GC), were used to reconstruct glacial sediment discharge and trace the long‐term composition and provenance of detrital sediments for the northeastern ...

This paper presents a new protocol for the laboratory preparation of archaeological samples. Ceramics that have been hand‐crafted using different sediments as raw materials were collected in a Roman Villa sited in Fiumana (FC), Italy. This method aims at concentrating and analysing heavy minerals in the 15–250 μm grain size fraction, studying the ...

Revisiting the silicon isotopic signal of sponge skeletons and its implications
Abstract This study investigates the relationship between the silicon (Si) isotopic composition of sponge skeletal silica (δ30SibSi) and seawater characteristics in sponge habitats, specifically the concentration of dissolved silicic acid and its Si isotopic signature (δ30SidSi).

Biomineralization is a generic term used to indicate biological‐mediated mineral formation. In carbonate mineralization, nucleation of crystals can be: (1) controlled directly by the organisms, like in the skeletal formation of most metazoans; (2) induced by microbial communities, by indirect precipitation mediated by their metabolic activities; or (3)
