Were There Tides on Ancient Mars?
Abstract Tides are a key component in the Earth system as they help regulate climate and sustain life. Mars very likely had a surface ocean around 4–3 billion years ago. The NASA Curiosity Rover and the CNSA Zhurong Rover were sent to Gale Crater and the Vastitas Borealis Formation (VBF) on Mars to explore the surface and search for evidence of the ...

Abstract Detrital sediments that accumulate downstream and are preserved in sedimentary rocks can allow characterization of geologic formations that are inaccessible for spatial or temporal reasons. However, mixing, sorting, and alteration of sediment during transport may complicate reconstruction of protolith characteristics.

Abstract Lithological mapping is essential for the exploration of critical minerals supporting energy transition and national defense. Although recent advancements have incorporated multi‐source data sets and leveraged machine learning and deep learning (DL) methods, lithological mapping continues to face significant challenges, such as data imbalance,

Abstract Seismic reflection data from Vincennes Bay, East Antarctica, provide the first insights into the Cenozoic evolution of the East Antarctic Ice Sheet (EAIS) in the Knox Coast. Long‐distance seismic horizon correlation allows age estimates for the seismic stratigraphic framework constructed for the continental shelf.
