Perturbation Analyses for the QR Factorization
SIAM Journal on Matrix Analysis and Applications, 1997Summary: This paper gives perturbation analyses for \(Q_1\) and \(R\) in the QR factorization \(A=Q_1R\), \(Q_1^TQ_1=I\) for a given real \(m\times n\) matrix \(A\) of rank \(n\) and general perturbations in \(A\) which are sufficiently small in norm. The analyses more accurately reflect the sensitivity of the problem than previous such results.

Factor analysed hidden Markov models
IEEE International Conference on Acoustics Speech and Signal Processing, 2002This paper presents a general form of acoustic model for speech recognition. The model is based on an extension to factor analysis where the low dimensional subspace is modelled with a mixture of Gaussians hidden Markov model (HMM) and the observation noise by a Gaussian mixture model.

Factor Analyses of Format Frequencies
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1971The exact relationship between the phonetic quality of a vowel and its formant frequencies has never been stated, because it has not been possible to account for the variations due to the personal quality of a speaker. We have analyzed the fundamental and first three formant frequencies of the eight primary cardinal vowels as spoken by 11 phoneticians ...

Refined Error Analyses of Cholesky Factorization
SIAM Journal on Numerical Analysis, 1983This paper concentrates on the practical Cholesky process for solving positive definite symmetric systems of linear equations in standard floating-point arithmetic. Two self-contained round-off analyses are presented, which lead to novel a posteriors error bounds (of practical use) and to refined a priori results (of more theoretical significance ...

Factor Analyses of the Family Assessment Device
Family Process, 1999The Family Assessment Device (FAD) operationalizes the McMaster Model of Family Functioning, which has been used in numerous studies, translated into seven languages, and is regarded as one of the most researched family assessment tools available. However, exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses using the 7‐by‐7 matrix of subscale correlations ...
