Design-Plots for Factorial and Fractional-Factorial Designs [PDF]

open access: possibleJournal of Quality Technology, 1998
This chapter develops design-plots for viewing the set of run conditions for experiment designs. The emphasis is on factorial and fractional factorial designs but mixture designs nested designs and irregular designs are also presented. The fundamental concept for designs with more than two factors is to place points on a regular grid.

Factorial Design Considerations

Journal of Clinical Oncology, 2002
PURPOSE: Factorial designs may be proposed to test extra questions within a clinical trial. A common approach to sample size and analysis for factorial trials assumes no statistical interactions and does not adjust for multiple testing. This investigation considered the trade-off between potential gains from testing more questions with fewer patients ...

Factorial designs

WIREs Computational Statistics, 2011
AbstractIn many scientific investigations, interest lies in studying the effects of several input variables simultaneously on an output variable. Factorial experiments are ideally suited for such investigations. The importance of factorial experiments stems from the fact that such experiments allow the estimation of individual effects of the input ...

Bayesian analysis of factorial designs.

Psychological Methods, 2017
This article provides a Bayes factor approach to multiway analysis of variance (ANOVA) that allows researchers to state graded evidence for effects or invariances as determined by the data. ANOVA is conceptualized as a hierarchical model where levels are clustered within factors.
