Factorial Experiments in Life Testing
Technometrics, 1959This paper discusses procedures for analyzing factorial experiments, where the experiment deals with the life testing of components or equipment. These procedures assume an underlying general distribution of “times-to-failure”, of which the exponential, Weibull, and extreme value distributions are special cases.

Locating Outliers in Factorial Experiments
Technometrics, 1960the paper so that a complete record of the meeting is available, and in the belief that the paper represents an important beginning in the study of patterns of residuals resulting from carefully planned experimental designs.

Factorial experiment on diets for chickens [PDF]
An experiment comparing 12 methods of feeding chickens (Duckworth and Carpenter; see John and Quenouille, 1977) was done independently in two replicates arranged in different houses. The treatments, forming a 3 × 2 × 2 factorial, were ‘form of protein’, ‘level of protein’, ‘level of fish solubles’. The data are given in Table K.1.

Factorial experiments: multiple replication
1987More precise estimates of treatment contrasts can be obtained if treatment combinations are replicated more than once in the factorial design. If the number of treatment combinations is not too large or if a large amount of experimental material is available, then multi-replicate factorial designs can often be employed.
