Advanced control in factory automation: a survey

International Journal of Production Research, 2016
This paper provides a survey of the main advanced control techniques currently adopted in factory automation. In particular, it focuses on five classes of control approaches, namely: model-based control, control based on computational intelligence, adaptive control, discrete event systems-based control and finally event-triggered and self-triggered ...

The Factorial Survey

Sociological Methods & Research, 2015
The factorial survey is an experimental design consisting of varying situations (vignettes) that have to be judged by respondents. For more complex research questions, it quickly becomes impossible for an individual respondent to judge all vignettes. To overcome this problem, random designs are recommended most of the time, whereas quota designs are ...

Factory and warehouse live load survey

Building and Environment, 1996
Abstract A major field survey of live loads in factories and warehouses in Ghana is reported. The survey was carried out as part of a study to establish a national code for design loads which are relevant for local application. Statistical computations of the moments that characterise the behaviour of the loads are given. The sustained loads are then

A survey of multi-factory scheduling

Journal of Intelligent Manufacturing, 2014
Because of current globalization trend, production has shifted from the single factory production to multi-factory production network. To become competitive in today's rapidly changing market requirements, factories have shifted from a centralized to a more decentralized structure, in many areas of decision making including scheduling. In multi-factory

Scaling Sensitive Factorial Survey Analysis

Sociological Methods & Research, 2018
In recent decades, factorial survey experiments (FSEs) have become increasingly widespread and successful for analyzing attitudes and behavioral intentions. FSEs measure the ratings of multidimensional treatments embedded in textual scenarios, which are called vignettes. Analyses of FSEs often assume that these ratings are interval scaled.

Half-Factorial Domains, a Survey

2000
Let D be an integral domain. D is atomic if every nonzero nonunit of D can be written as a product of irreducible elements (or atoms) of D. Let 1 (D) represent the set of irreducible elements of D. Traditionally, an atomic domain D is a unique factorization domain (UFD) if α 1… α n = β 1… β m for each ai and β j ∈I (D) implies: 1. n =m,

Factorial Validity of the Jungian Type Survey

Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1980
Analysis of responses of 421 subjects to the Jungian Type Survey indicated strong Introversion/Extraversion and Sensation/Intuition factors and a weak Thinking/Feeling factor. Addition of ten items designed to measure Thinking/Feeling strengthened that factor and yielded a fourth factor, labelled Female/Introversion/Feeling.

Survey and alignment of SLC's B-factory

Proceedings of the 1997 Particle Accelerator Conference (Cat. No.97CH36167), 2002
The survey and alignment of SLAC's B-factory injector and high energy ring will be complete in March 1997. Modern digital electronic surveying tools are contributing to new, efficient alignment procedures. A laser tracker was used to fiducialize almost 300 quadrupole magnets. Digital levels were used to pre-set base plate elevations.
