Factorial validity of the EE scales
Psychological Medicine, 1989SynopsisHigh ‘expressed emotion’ (EE) has been held to be predictive of a poor course in patients with schizophrenia, a finding that has emphasized the predictive validity of the EE measure. We review appropriate research examining properties of the EE measure to suggest that, in particular, little is known about the construct validity of the EE ...

Is the 16PF Factorially Valid?
Journal of Personality Assessment, 1974Summary The factor structure of the items of the 1962 16PF Form A was examined on a sample of 499 air traffic controllers. It was found that the test does indeed measure the primary factors it purports to measure although several of the factors found did not correspond well with the ideal pattern to be expected with the 16PF on this special, highly ...

Factorial validation of hospitality service attitude
International Journal of Hospitality Management, 2012Abstract Numerous studies have shown that service attitude is a cornerstone of the client's perception of service quality. However, little research has explored the construct of service attitude from the customers’ perspective. This study collected data from two sets of samples consisting of 448 customers from international hotels in Taiwan.

Validated simulation models for factory control
IEEE/SEMI International Semiconductor Manufacturing Science Symposium, 2003The authors describe the use of the ACHILLES simulation model in the wafer fabrication facility of Silicon Systems Inc. at Tustin, California. The accuracy of the model results from initialization, calibration, and validation procedures. The validated model was used to reduce by one-half the cycle time of a major process in a multiprocess operating ...

Factorial Validity of the KeyMath-Revised
Diagnostique, 1991This study examined the construct validity of the KeyMath-Revised by testing the factorial model proposed by the test author through the use of confirmatory and exploratory factor analysis. The results of this study failed to confirm the proposed factorial model and suggested that the KeyMath-Revised assesses two distinct domains rather than the three

Factorial Validity of the Supports Intensity Scale (SIS)
American Journal on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, 2010Abstract The Supports Intensity Scale (SIS) was developed to provide information on the support needs of persons with intellectual disability. Our aim here was to evaluate the factorial validity of the SIS in a sample of 14,862 persons with intellectual disability.

Factorial Validity of the Jungian Type Survey
Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1980Analysis of responses of 421 subjects to the Jungian Type Survey indicated strong Introversion/Extraversion and Sensation/Intuition factors and a weak Thinking/Feeling factor. Addition of ten items designed to measure Thinking/Feeling strengthened that factor and yielded a fourth factor, labelled Female/Introversion/Feeling.

Factorial validity of problematic Internet use scales
Computers in Human Behavior, 2009There exists a number of multidimensional measurement scales for problematic Internet use (PIU) with varying factor structures. This study reviews the factor analytic techniques used to develop these measures and discusses their implications for the factorial validity, particularly discriminant validity, of these PIU scales. To further illustrate these

Factorial Validity of Student Ratings of Instruction
Research in Higher Education, 2005This study tested the Systematic Distortion Hypothesis by examining the factorial validity of student ratings of university teaching. Factorial validity is defined as the degree to which covariance among judged traits resembles the actual or true covariation of observable behaviors underlying these traits.
