Factorial validity of imagery measures

Behaviour Research and Therapy, 1976
Abstract Two correlational studies and related factor analyses (N = 70. N = 76) were addressed to four psychometric hypotheses derived from the imagery-desensitization literature. Consistent with prior research, self-ratings of imaginal vividness correlated moderately positively across sense modalities.

Factorial Validity of Merz's Psychological Reactance Scale

Psychological Reports, 1987
Merz's Psychological Reactance Scale was translated from German and based on responses of 218 college students. Via factor analysis with principal factors followed by a Direct Quartimin rotation, researchers noted an orthogonal two-factor solution which contrasts with Merz's four and suggests thorough psychometric work is needed.

Parent Success Indicator: Development and Factorial Validation

Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1996
Responses from 612 Parent Success Indicators (PSI) by parents and children were subjected to factor analysis. Data were factor analyzed to determine if the underlying factor structure of the instrument fit the hypothesized dimensions suggested by the position of 60 items on six subscales.

Factorial and Construct Validity of the Sibling Relationship Questionnaire

European Journal of Psychological Assessment, 2010
The psychometric properties of the shortened version of the Sibling Relationship Questionnaire (SRQ; Furman & Buhrmester, 1985 ) were examined in a sample of 428 Dutch adolescents, aged 13 to 16. In order to examine the dimensions Warmth/Closeness and Conflict, as proposed by Furman and Buhrmester, we first conducted confirmatory factor analyses ...

Factorial Validity of the Faith Development Scale

International Journal for the Psychology of Religion, 2008
The Faith Development Scale (FDS; Leak, Loucks, & Bowlin, 1999) is a brief, global measure of religious maturity derived explicitly from Fowler's (1981) influential theory of faith development. A great deal of prior research exists to support its construct validity. It has not, however, undergone a rigorous examination of its factorial validity as part

The Factorial Validity of the Mathematics Attribution Scale

Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1984
The Mathematics Attribution Scale (MAS) (Algebra) was designed to assess attributions of success and failure in algebra to ability, effort, task, and environment. The present study examined the MAS (Algebra) for a separate dimension of attributions for success and a dimension of attributions for failure. The two hypothesized dimensions did not emerge.

Construction and Validation of the Factorial Arabic Neuroticism Scale

Psychological Reports, 2009
The present aim was to construct and validate the Factorial Arabic Neuroticism Scale. Based on the scales developed by Eysenck, Cattell, and Guilford, the item pool consisted of 226 nonrepeated items. Five Ph.D. referees shortened the pool to 84 items.

Factorial Validity of a Referral Preference Rating Scale

Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1981
The validity of the Referral Preference Rating Scale (RPRS) was studied for a sample of 294 high school teachers. The teachers responded to a 50 item four-level Liker-type rating scale. A principal axis factor analysis with a varimax rotation disclosed four behavior categories of concern to teachers.
