The Holyoake Codependency Index: further evidence of factorial validity

Drug and Alcohol Review, 2002
AbstractThe Holyoake Codependency Index (HCI) is a 13‐item self‐report scale that measures codependent traits. The HCI contains three subscales that correspond to key themes within the codependency literature and that were derived from factor analysis using a clinical sample of mainly females.

Life Styles Inventory: Evidence for its Factorial Validity

Psychological Reports, 1985
The primary objective of the present study was to assess the stability and generality of the Level I: Life Styles Inventory's factor structure. The importance of the objective emerged from a discrepancy between the conceptual model and the inventory's derived factor structure.

Factorial Validity of the Test of Problem Solving

Perceptual and Motor Skills, 1993
The underlying structure of the Test of Problem Solving was examined using factor analysis. At all six age levels ( N = 842 from 6 to 11 years) a one-factor solution emerged, suggesting the five subtests measure a single underlying construct. These data support the combination of subtests to form a composite score; however, subtest specificity was ...

Leadership Substitutes: Their Factorial Validity in Educational Organizations

Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1988
This study examines the internal-consistency reliability, and factorial validity of the Substitutes for Leadership Questionnaire (Kerr, 1977) in an educational setting. The Factorial Validity for the Ideal Child Checklist

Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1983
Responses of 522 middle-class parents to Torrance's Ideal Child Checklist were factor analyzed. Four dimensions were found to underly the 66 items that originally comprised the scale, namely: Factor I, Confident, Aggressive, Well Adjusted; Factor II, Socially Virtuous; Factor III, Negativistic, Critical; and Factor IV, Creative-Intuitive.

Factorial Validity of the Bem Sex-Role Inventory

Perceptual and Motor Skills, 1983
A factor analysis of responses from 44 white female teachers to the 40-item Bern Sex-role Inventory yielded two factors, Masculinity and Femininity accounting for 20.7 and 16.2%, respectively, of the common variance. Of the 40 items 28 performed as hypothesized, suggesting sound construct validity for the total scales.

Validating the packaging process using factorial designs.

Medical device technology, 1997
The development of an effective process requires a comprehensive understanding of two factors: the variables that can affect the process and the ability of the process to control those variables. This article examines the application of factorial designs in the qualification and validation of packaging systems.

Factorial Validity of the Tennessee Self-Concept Scale

Psychological Reports, 1976
This investigation was designed to compare the factorial structure of 312 rehabilitation clients' responses to the Tennessee Self-concept Scale to the rationally derived subscale structure of the instrument. Oblique rotations of four variable sets which represent successive condensations of the item sample were carried out.
