Efficient networks for quantum factoring [PDF]
We consider how to optimize memory use and computation time in operating a quantum computer. In particular, we estimate the number of memory quantum bits (qubits) and the number of operations required to perform factorization, using the algorithm ...

We introduce and investigate the category of factorization of a multiplicative, commutative, cancellative, pre-ordered monoid $A$, which we denote $\mathcal{F}(A)$. The objects of $\mathcal{F}(A)$ are factorizations of elements of $A$, and the morphisms in $\mathcal{F}(A)$ encode combinatorial similarities and differences between the factorizations. We

Factoring bivariate lacunary polynomials without heights [PDF]
We present an algorithm which computes the multilinear factors of bivariate lacunary polynomials. It is based on a new Gap Theorem which allows to test whether a polynomial of the form P(X,X+1) is identically zero in time polynomial in the number of ...

Abstract We introduce a new approach to (deterministic) integer factorisation, which could be described in the cryptographically fashionable term of “factoring with hints”: we prove that, for any ϵ > 0, given the knowledge of the factorisations of O

Proposed guidelines to implement flexible-plastic circular economy business models in Colombia
[Introduction]: The lack of feasible circular economy models for recycling single-use plastics poses a significant challenge to sustainable waste management.

The paper introduces the butterfly factorization as a data-sparse approximation for the matrices that satisfy a complementary low-rank property. The factorization can be constructed efficiently if either fast algorithms for applying the matrix and its adjoint are available or the entries of the matrix can be sampled individually.

A deterministic version of Pollard's p-1 algorithm
In this article we present applications of smooth numbers to the unconditional derandomization of some well-known integer factoring algorithms. We begin with Pollard's $p-1$ algorithm, which finds in random polynomial time the prime divisors $p$ of an ...
