Building Structured Databases of Factual Knowledge from Massive Text Corpora

open access: closedProceedings of the 2017 ACM International Conference on Management of Data, 2017
In today's computerized and information-based society, people are inundated with vast amounts of text data, ranging from news articles, social media post, scientific publications, to a wide range of textual information from various domains (corporate reports, advertisements, legal acts, medical reports). To turn such massive unstructured text data into

Building structure-oriented numerical factual databases: The Beilstein example

open access: closedWorld Patent Information, 1987
Abstract The generation of one of the world's largest organic chemical databases, the Beilstein Database, is described. This project started in October 1983 and will result in a first online version by late 1987. The contents of the database and its data structure are based on the Beilstein Handbook which so far has been published in over 300 volumes.

A study of the «normalization paradox» in factual relational databases on the PostgreSQL platform by

open access: closedInformation-measuring and Control Systems
The relational database relation normalization algorithm assumes sequential projection of the source table to meet the specific requirements of each normal form. The procedure for fetching data from a set of tables is based on their cascade connection, which, depending on the implementation (manufacturer and version of the database management system ...
