Günümüzde iş gücü kalitesini arttırmaya yönelik mesleki yeterliklerin belirlenmesi konusunda pek çok çalışma yapılmaktadır. Diyanet İşleri Başkanlığı da (DİB) 2004’ten itibaren bünyesinde çalışan görevlilerin toplumun ihtiyaç duyduğu din hizmetlerini etkin bir şekilde yerine getirmeleri için sahip olmaları gereken yeterlikleri/nitelikleri belirlemiştir.
