Plasma lipidomic and metabolomic profiles in high‐grade glioma patients before and after 72‐h presurgery water‐only fasting

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Presurgery 72‐h fasting in GB patients leads to adaptations of plasma lipids and polar metabolites. Fasting reduces lysophosphatidylcholines and increases free fatty acids, shifts triglycerides toward long‐chain TGs and increases branched‐chain amino acids, alpha aminobutyric acid, and uric acid.

Modeling Cellular Networks in Fading Environments with Dominant Specular Components [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Stochastic geometry (SG) has been widely accepted as a fundamental tool for modeling and analyzing cellular networks. However, the fading models used with SG analysis are mainly confined to the simplistic Rayleigh fading, which is extended to the Nakagami-m fading in some special cases.

Physical Layer Network Coding for Two-Way Relaying with QAM

open access: yes, 2013
The design of modulation schemes for the physical layer network-coded two way relaying scenario was studied in [1], [3], [4] and [5]. In [7] it was shown that every network coding map that satisfies the exclusive law is representable by a Latin Square ...

Irreversible vs Reversible Capacity Fade of Lithium-Sulfur Batteries during Cycling: The Effects of Precipitation and Shuttle

open access: yes, 2018
Lithium-sulfur batteries could deliver significantly higher gravimetric energy density and lower cost than Li-ion batteries. Their mass adoption, however, depends on many factors, not least on attaining a predictive understanding of the mechanisms that ...

Enhancement of fatty acid degradation pathway promoted glucoamylase synthesis in Aspergillus niger

open access: yesMicrobial Cell Factories, 2022
Background Our recent multi-omics analyses of glucoamylase biosynthesis in Aspergillus niger (A. niger) suggested that lipid catabolism was significantly up-regulated during high-yield period under oxygen limitation.

A Novel Online State of Health Estimation Method for Electric Vehicle Pouch Cells Using Magnetic Field Imaging and Convolution Neural Networks

open access: yesElectrochem, 2022
Lithium-ion batteries (LiBs) are used as the main power source in electric vehicles (EVs). Despite their high energy density and commercial availability, LiBs chronically suffer from non-uniform cell ageing, leading to early capacity fade in the battery ...

ShcD adaptor protein drives invasion of triple negative breast cancer cells by aberrant activation of EGFR signaling

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We identified adaptor protein ShcD as upregulated in triple‐negative breast cancer and found its expression to be correlated with reduced patient survival and increased invasion in cell models. Using a proteomic screen, we identified novel ShcD binding partners involved in EGFR signaling pathways.
