Fisiologia da fadiga muscular. Delimitação conceptual, modelos de estudo e mecanismos de fadiga de origem central e periférica

open access: yesRevista Portuguesa De Ciências Do Desporto, 2003
Muscular fatigue. Definition, models of study and mechanisms of central and peripheral fatigue. Mammalian skeletal muscles are capable of generating enormous forces when appropriately activated. However, repeated attempts to reproduce equivalent force or power output are invariable met with failure, as characterized by an acute and progressive ...

Superficial Ventral Premotor Pathways to Primary Motor Cortex Shape the Temporal Coordination of Precision Graspinnog. [PDF]

open access: yesEur J Neurosci
Goal‐directed reaching–grasping actions rely on PMv–M1 connectivity. Participants performed precision or power grips toward small or large objects before and after the PMv–M1 cc‐PASAP protocol. The PMv‐M1 plasticity induction produced selective changes in temporal joint‐angle synergies during precision grip, with no effect on spatial synergies ...

ANÁLISE DO COMPORTAMENTO ELETROMIOGRÁFICO E DA FORÇA DURANTE A FADIGA DO MUSCULO BÍCEPS BRAQUIAL

open access: yesRevista UniVap, 2021
A fadiga muscular é definida como a incapacidade de manter a contração muscular e é ocasionada por alterações bioquímicas que modificam a mecânica da contração muscular, resultando em redução da performance atlética. O objetivo deste estudo foi avaliar o

Organic Electronics Circuitry for In Situ Real‐Time Processing of Electrophysiological Signals

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, Volume 10, Issue 34, December 4, 2023., 2023
An organic electronic platform for in situ real‐time signal processing is benchmarked against complex signals. Low‐, high‐ and band‐pass filters are achieved with organic analogs of passive circuit components and coupled to first‐stage amplifiers based on electrolyte‐gated organic transistors, fostering organic bio‐electronics integration in brain ...

Cortico‐cortical paired associative stimulation conditioning superficial ventral premotor cortex–primary motor cortex connectivity influences motor cortical activity during precision grip

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, Volume 601, Issue 17, Page 3945-3960, 1 September 2023., 2023
Abstract figure legend Neural circuits presumably involved in the induction of plasticity after cortico‐cortical paired associative stimulation from the ventral premotor cortex to primary motor cortex (PMv‐to‐M1) applied with an antero‐posterior (AP) coil orientation.

Application of action observation therapy in stroke rehabilitation: A systematic review

open access: yesBrain and Behavior, Volume 13, Issue 8, August 2023., 2023
The present review summarized the outcome measures employed in stroke patients and the scales and tests used to assess the outcome measures. When using adjuvant AOT with conventional therapy in stroke rehabilitation, we suggest starting AOT 23 or more days after stroke onset. Our results suggest 30–40 min per session may be most beneficial.

Different proportions of dried Vernonia amygdalina leaves and wheat bran mixture supplementation on feed intake, digestibility and body weight change of Arsi–Bale sheep fed with natural pasture hay as basal diet

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 9, Issue 2, Page 957-966, March 2023., 2023
Trends in body weight change of Arsi–Bale sheep fed with natural pasture hay basal diet and supplemented with dried Vernonia amygdalina leaves and wheat bran mixture at different proportions. Abstract Background Animal feed shortage in quality and quantity, and escalating costs of agro‐industrial by‐products to supplement crop residues and natural ...

Speaking in gestures: Left dorsal and ventral frontotemporal brain systems underlie communication in conducting

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Neuroscience, Volume 57, Issue 2, Page 324-350, January 2023., 2023
In instrumentalists and conductors, a left frontotemporal dorsal system involving Broca's pars opercularis (F3op) distinguished conducting gestures from similar gestures to beat rhythms. A ventral system including the Broca's pars triangularis (F3tri) differentiated this motor act in conductors from those in instrumentalists.
