Modeling Cellular Networks in Fading Environments with Dominant Specular Components [PDF]
Stochastic geometry (SG) has been widely accepted as a fundamental tool for modeling and analyzing cellular networks. However, the fading models used with SG analysis are mainly confined to the simplistic Rayleigh fading, which is extended to the ...

Deep Transient Optical Fading in the WC9 Star WR 106 [PDF]
We discovered that the WR9-type star WR 106 (HDE 313643) underwent a deep episodic fading in 2000. The depth of the fading (dV ~ 2.9 mag) surpassed those of all known similar "eclipse-like" fadings in WR stars.

On the Dirty Paper Channel with Fast Fading Dirt [PDF]
Costa`s "writing on dirty paper" result establishes that full state pre-cancellation can be attained in the Gel`fand-Pinsker problem with additive state and additive white Gaussian noise.

Review of the thermoluminescent dosimetry method for the environmental dose monitoring [PDF]
Passive solid state dosimeters, such as thermoluminescence dosimeters, provide integrated measurement of the total dose and are widely used in environmental monitoring programs. The objective of this paper is to provide a comprehensive review on

Patient H.M. can form new memories and maintain them for a few seconds before they fade away. From a neurobiological perspective, this amnesia is usually attributed to the absence of memory consolidation, that is, memory storage. An alternative view holds that this impairment reflects that the memory is present but cannot be retrieved.

Composite Fading Models based on Inverse Gamma Shadowing: Theory and Validation [PDF]
We introduce a general approach to characterize composite fading models based on inverse gamma (IG) shadowing. We first determine to what extent the IG distribution is an adequate choice for modeling shadow fading, by means of a comprehensive test with ...
