Targeting PRAME directly or via EZH2 inhibition overcomes retinoid resistance and represents a novel therapy for keratinocyte carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The study evaluated the function and therapeutic implications of PRAME in basal cell carcinoma (BCC) and squamous cell carcinoma (SCC). The findings demonstrate that PRAME impairs keratinocyte differentiation pathways. Furthermore, PRAME impairs anticancer response to retinoid compounds in BCC and SCC cells.

Effects of La2(CO3)3 on microstructure and mechanical properties of ZM-5 magnesium alloy [PDF]

open access: yesChina Foundry, 2010
The optical microscope (OM), scanning electron microscope (SEM) with energy dispersive spectrometer(EDS) and X-ray diffractometer (XRD) are employed to analyze the effect of La2(CO3)3 on microstructure and mechanical properties of ZM-5 magnesium alloy ...

On the Blind Interference Alignment over Homogeneous Block Fading Channels [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2012
Staggered fading pattern between different users is crucial to interference alignment without CSIT, or so-called blind interference alignment (BIA). This special fading structure naturally arises from heterogeneous block fading setting, in which different users experience independent block fading with different coherent times. Jafar et al.

TOMM20 as a driver of cancer aggressiveness via oxidative phosphorylation, maintenance of a reduced state, and resistance to apoptosis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
TOMM20 increases cancer aggressiveness by maintaining a reduced state with increased NADH and NADPH levels, oxidative phosphorylation (OXPHOS), and apoptosis resistance while reducing reactive oxygen species (ROS) levels. Conversely, CRISPR‐Cas9 knockdown of TOMM20 alters these cancer‐aggressive traits.

The Influence of Single, Two, and Three Stage Bleaching on Fading Characteristic of Deinked Stock [PDF]

open access: yes, 1952
A literature survey on the various bleaching methods used on deinked stock and the factors which influence the fading characteristic of deinked stock is compiled. Mention is also made of various additives which have an influence on the fading of a sheet.

Plasma lipidomic and metabolomic profiles in high‐grade glioma patients before and after 72‐h presurgery water‐only fasting

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Presurgery 72‐h fasting in GB patients leads to adaptations of plasma lipids and polar metabolites. Fasting reduces lysophosphatidylcholines and increases free fatty acids, shifts triglycerides toward long‐chain TGs and increases branched‐chain amino acids, alpha aminobutyric acid, and uric acid.

The influence of stirring on the fading of the AlTi5B1 grain refiner in an Al–Fe alloy [PDF]

open access: yesMetalurgija, 2011
An Al–Fe alloy, melted in an induction furnace with a graphite crucible, was grain refined with the AlTi5B1 grain refiner. The melt was stirred after the addition of the grain refiner. The first sample was cast two minutes after the addition of the grain

The fluctuating two-ray fading model: exact and approximate statistical characterization [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
El congreso en el que se ha presentado este artículo no genera libro de actas, por lo que el copyright no se ha transferido a IEEE.We introduce the Fluctuating Two-Ray (FTR) fading model, a new statistical channel model that consists of two fluctuating ...

On the Capacity of Fading MIMO Broadcast Channels with Imperfect Transmitter Side-Information [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2006
A fading broadcast channel is considered where the transmitter employs two antennas and each of the two receivers employs a single receive antenna. It is demonstrated that even if the realization of the fading is precisely known to the receivers, the high signal-to-noise (SNR) throughput is greatly reduced if, rather than knowing the fading realization

Escape from TGF‐β‐induced senescence promotes aggressive hallmarks in epithelial hepatocellular carcinoma cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Chronic TGF‐β exposure drives epithelial HCC cells from a senescent state to a TGF‐β resistant mesenchymal phenotype. This transition is characterized by the loss of Smad3‐mediated signaling, escape from senescence, enhanced invasiveness and metastatic potential, and upregulation of key resistance modulators such as MARK1 and GRM8, ultimately promoting
