Fade statistics in Nakagami fading environments
Proceedings of ISSSTA'95 International Symposium on Spread Spectrum Techniques and Applications, 2002The Nakagami fading model is becoming more prevalent in performance analysis and other studies related to mobile radio communications. Fade statistics is studied for the Nakagami fading model. Closed form expressions are given for the rate of occurrence of fades, as well as the average time duration of fades and interfades.

This paper is concerned with an excellent mathematical treatment of the concept of fading memory which plays an important part in describing the mechanical behaviour of a large class of simple materials. The original theory of fading memory, which has been introduced by \textit{B. D. Coleman} and \textit{W. Noll} [Rev. Modern Phys.

To fade or not to fade? That is the question in customer relationships, too
Managing Service Quality: An International Journal, 2003In the services literature, there is a significant lack of studies that focus on the phase preceding the ending of a relationship – that is, the phase during which there is a weakening of a customer relationship. The purpose of this study is to describe and analyse the fading process of customer relationships in the service industry.

Equivalent fading statistics in the K fading channels
2013 22nd Wireless and Optical Communication Conference, 2013In order to obtain the fading statistics for the K fading channels, the equivalent process of the K process, i.e. the product process of a Rayleigh process and a Nakagami process, is utilized. The mapping relationship between the K process and its equivalent process is found by equating the arbitrary order moments of them. On this basis, the equivalent

The Fading Number of a Multiple-Access Rician Fading Channel
IEEE Transactions on Information Theory, 2009The fading number of a noncoherent two-user Ri-cian fading channel is derived. The fading number is the second term in the high-SNR expansion of the sum-rate capacity of this multiple-access channel. It is shown that the fading number is identical to the fading number of the single-user Rician fading channel that is obtained when the user seeing the ...

Fade margins for minimum duration outages in lognormal shadow fading and Rayleigh fading
Conference Record of the Thirty-First Asilomar Conference on Signals, Systems and Computers (Cat. No.97CB36136), 2002Minimum duration outages have been used to characterize time-dependent performance in analysis of quantities such as average duration of an outage, the probability of outage, and the frequency of outage, in lognormal shadow fading (Mandayam et al., 1996) and Rayleigh fading (Lai and Mandayam, 1997), respectively.

On the Fade Duration Distribution in Nakagami Fading Channels
2007 IEEE International Conference on Communications, 2007During almost fifty years the fade duration distribution (FDD) of random signals has been an open research topic. However, for Nakagami fading channels, and in general for the great majority of non-Gaussian processes, closed form general solutions are still unknown.
