SAFE: Multitask Failure Detection for Vision-Language-Action Models
arXiv.orgWhile vision-language-action models (VLAs) have shown promising robotic behaviors across a diverse set of manipulation tasks, they achieve limited success rates when deployed on novel tasks out of the box.

This article introduces definitions of the terms bankruptcy, corporate failure, insolvency, as well as the methods of bankruptcy, and popular economic failure prediction models. We will show that a firm filing for corporate insolvency does not necessarily fail to pay off its financial obligations as they mature.

We propose a model-driven methodology to generate and automatically deploy runtime failure detectors that enable self-healing software to deal with functional failures. The methodology rests on addressing key research challenges: (1) Identifying classes of properties specified in end-user requirements, which can be associated with typical integration ...

Multilevel failure detection system
Computers in Industry, 1985Abstract A fuzy multilevel failure detection system is developed for complex processes with ill-known mathematical model and poor measuring accuracy. The decomposition of the problem is made with the aid of fuzzy switches and diagnostic algorithms which are specified by a set of conditional statements.

Secure Failure Detection in TrustedPals
2007This paper presents a modular redesign of TrustedPals, a smartcard-based security framework for solving secure multiparty computation (SMC). TrustedPals allows to reduce SMC to the problem of fault-tolerant consensus between smartcards. Within the redesign we investigate the problem of solving consensus in a general omission failure model augmented ...

Incipient Failure Detection: Incipient Failure Detection in Ball Bearings
1969Abstract : This document reports the results of an investigation of incipient failure detection in ball bearings by means of acoustic monitoring techniques. The change of acoustic emanation strength with bearing condition was studied to determine if changes within the frequency spectrum monitored would manifest the onset of a bearing failure.

Enforcing perfect failure detection
Proceedings 21st International Conference on Distributed Computing Systems, 2002Perfect failure detectors can correctly decide whether a computer is crashed. However it is impossible to implement a perfect failure detector in purely asynchronous systems. We show how to enforce perfect failure detection in timed distributed systems with hardware watchdogs.

Planning and Failure Detection
2010The capacity for planful behavior is one of the major characteristics of an intelligent agent. When acting in realistic environments, however, reasoning about how to achieve one’s goals is complicated significantly, both by the limited perceptions of the agent and the high dynamics of the environment, especially when other intelligent agents are ...
