Ultimate bearing capacity of embedded strip footings on rock slopes under inclined loading conditions using adaptive finite element limit analysis

open access: yesScientific Reports
The stability of rock slope-footing systems is influenced by various factors, including slope geometry, rock mass strength, load properties, and foundation placement.

Generalized failure envelope for caisson foundations in cohesive soil: Static and dynamic loading

open access: yes
The response of massive caisson foundations to combined vertical (N), horizontal (Q) and moment (M) loading is investigated parametrically by a series of three-dimensional finite element analyses.

Light‐Activated Ruthenium Nanoclusters Reprogram the Metabolic‐Quorum Sensing Axis for Precision Periodontitis Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Under 660 nm visible light, Ru NCs efficiently photocatalyze nitrate‐to‐ammonium conversion and modulate oral nitrogen metabolism. They precisely perturb Veillonella parvula, block its key support to Porphyromonas gingivalis, and exert an “inhibiting without killing” antivirulence effect.

Machine‐Learning Framework for Designing Stable Interfaces in All‐Solid‐State Lithium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A data‐driven strategy is developed to discover coating materials for all‐solid‐state lithium batteries. Using calculations of interfacial reactivity, unsupervised pattern recognition, and machine‐learning prediction, the study identifies low‐reactivity compositional patterns and screens new lithium‐based oxide and polyanion candidates, extending ...

Failure envelopes of embedded foundations under V-H-M loadings in anisotropic clays using optimised ANFIS algorithms

open access: yes
This paper provides a comprehensive analysis of the undrained failure envelope for embedded foundations in anisotropic clays. Using the AUS failure criterion as the soil strength model, the study examines how the anisotropic strength (re) and embedment ...

From Cytoskeletal Remodeling to Oocyte Quality: The Emerging Role of Mechanics

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Mechanical properties of the oocyte are increasingly recognized as critical determinants of meiotic success and developmental potential. How actomyosin remodeling controls oocyte mechanics, how these properties are altered in pathological conditions, and how they could serve as markers in reproductive medicine are examined.

PRMT5‐Dependent Stabilization of VPS34 Orchestrates Copper Trafficking to Shield Cancer Cells from Cuproptosis and Radiotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Radioresistance arises partly from tumor cells evading cuproptosis via unknown defenses. This study reveals that the PRMT5‐VPS34 axis acts as a radiation‐activated anticuproptotic mechanism: PRMT5 methylates VPS34 at Arg174, recruiting USP10 to remove K48‐linked ubiquitination and prevent degradation.

Porcine Deltacoronavirus M Protein Binds NLRP3 to Promote Inflammasome Assembly via Competition with TRIM31

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Porcine deltacoronavirus (PDCoV) infection induces severe intestinal inflammation and acute diarrhea in piglets, yet the molecular mechanism remains incompletely understood. The M protein activates NLRP3 inflammasome through dual mechanisms: direct binding to the NLRP3 LRR domain and disruption of TRIM31‐mediated K48‐linked ubiquitination.

Emerging Materials and Future Strategies for Solid Oxide Electrochemical Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
Solid oxide electrochemical cells operate under strongly coupled electrochemical and thermodynamic conditions, where performance is constrained by interactions among crystal structure, defect chemistry, and interfacial evolution. This review, based on a structure‐defect‐property‐durability framework, reveals the roles of lattice symmetry and defect ...
