Distinct Symptom Occurrence Subgroups Among Patients With Colorectal Cancer: Differences in Social Determinants of Health and Diet Quality

open access: yesResearch in Nursing &Health, Volume 49, Issue 5, Page 595-611, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Colorectal cancer (CRC) is a leading cause of cancer mortality in the United States. Many patients with CRC experience physical and psychological symptoms that diminish quality of life and are shaped by social determinants of health (SDOH) and diet quality.

‘I'm still guessing what's happening and what I'm meant to do’: Special educator experiences of supporting echolalic students

open access: yesJournal of Research in Special Educational Needs, Volume 26, Issue 4, October 2026.
Abstract Echolalia has been widely examined in clinical and developmental research, yet the experiences of teachers, who arguably encounter echolalia across the widest variety of contexts and environments, remain largely unexplored. This study examined special education teachers lived experiences of echolalia in specialist schools.

Fruit‐Piercing Moth Serrodes partita (Fabricius) (Lepidoptera: Erebidae) in Soft Citrus: Feeding Behaviour and Damage Patterns for Improved Management in the Eastern Cape, South Africa

open access: yesAfrican Journal of Ecology, Volume 64, Issue 7, October 2026.
ABSTRACT The fruit‐piercing moth, Serrodes partita (Lepidoptera: Erebidae), is a significant pest of soft citrus in South Africa. The adult moth pierces ripe and ripening fruit, leading to fruit rot. The damage is challenging to detect due to the delayed onset of symptoms. The study investigated the feeding preferences and damage patterns of S. partita

Infrared Thermographic Assessment of Fatigue Behavior in Bolted Composite Joints

open access: yesFatigue &Fracture of Engineering Materials &Structures, Volume 49, Issue 10, Page 4136-4149, October 2026.
ABSTRACT This study investigates the temperature evolution of bolted thick glass fiber reinforced polymer composites during fatigue testing. Three different adherend thicknesses (8, 10, and 12 mm) and three different bolt tightening torques (30, 40, and 50 N ·m were considered to evaluate the effects of adherend thickness and bolt tightening torque on ...

Linking the Movement Behavior of the Laptev Sea Walrus to Sea Ice and Resource Dynamics

open access: yesMarine Mammal Science, Volume 42, Issue 4, October 2026.
ABSTRACT The walrus subspecies inhabiting the Laptev Sea (Odobenus rosmarus divergens) remains one of the least studied walrus taxa and occurs in a region undergoing rapid environmental change driven by climate warming and increasing human activity. We conducted the first satellite telemetry study of walruses in this region, tracking 14 individuals ...

Bonded Water Is an Integral Component of Dissolved Organic Matter in the Ocean

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 17, 16 September 2026.
Abstract Dissolved organic matter (DOM) in the ocean, as one of the largest pools of reduced carbon on Earth, plays an important role in the global carbon cycle, yet its chemical structure remains largely unknown. Here we show that high molecular weight DOM (HMW‐DOM) contains approximately 10% bonded water (H2O) by weight.
