Nature at Risk, Finance at Stake: A Systematic Literature Review of Biodiversity Risk in Finance Research

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Biodiversity‐related financial risk is increasingly recognized not only as a market concern but as an ethical and systemic imperative for businesses and financial institutions. This systematic literature review synthesizes 103 peer‐reviewed studies to examine how biodiversity risk is conceptualized, measured, and integrated within financial ...

Evidence for West Nile Virus and Usutu Virus Infections in Wild and Resident Birds in Germany, 2017 and 2018 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Wild birds play an important role as reservoir hosts and vectors for zoonotic arboviruses and foster their spread. Usutu virus (USUV) has been circulating endemically in Germany since 2011, while West Nile virus (WNV) was first diagnosed in several bird ...

Environmental Sustainability in Wineries: How Contingency Factors and Environmental Management Accounting Tools Influence Environmental Performance?

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT How do wineries design sustainability practices and use environmental management accounting (EMA)? This study addresses that question by analyzing the influence of contingency factors on the adoption of sustainability practices and the use of EMA tools to improve the environmental performance of wineries. The research was carried out through a

Constraining the size of the narrow line region in distant quasars

open access: yes, 2006
We propose a proper method to measure the size of the narrow line region (NLR) in distant quasars. The apparent angular size of the NLR is, in general, too small to resolve technically. However, it is possible to map the NLR if with gravitational lensing.

SDSS J131339.98+515128.3: A new gravitationally lensed quasar selected based on near-infrared excess [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
We report the discovery of a new gravitationally lensed quasar, SDSS J131339.98+515128.3, at a redshift of 1.875 with an image separation of 1.24". The lensing galaxy is clearly detected in visible-light follow-up observations.

Generative AI, ESG Sensemaking, and Environmental Performance: an OIPT Perspective

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Despite growing enthusiasm for generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) in sustainability management, it remains unclear how such technologies translate vast ESG information into meaningful environmental outcomes. This study addresses this gap by investigating how ESG sensemaking capability mediates the relationship between GenAI integration

To What Extent Does ESG Performance Influence Board Engagement in Acquisition Activity?

open access: yesCorporate Social Responsibility and Environmental Management, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study examines the relationship between boards and corporate acquisition activity. Specifically, we posit that boards with directors who have been politicians positively influence the propensity to pursue acquisitions and that ESG performance (divided into environmental, social, and governance scores) moderates this relationship.
