Assessing the impact of affective feedback on end-user security awareness [PDF]
A lack of awareness regarding online security behaviour can leave users and their devices vulnerable to compromise. This paper highlights potential areas where users may fall victim to online attacks, and reviews existing tools developed to raise users ...

Bi-Modal Multiperspective Percussive (BiMP) Dataset for Visual and Audio Human Fall Detection
Falls are the leading cause of injuries and fatalities among older individuals propagating concerns for health and safety. Mitigating these concerns requires timely intervention and response to minimize health complications.

A Wavelet-Based Approach to Fall Detection [PDF]
Falls among older people are a widely documented public health problem. Automatic fall detection has recently gained huge importance because it could allow for the immediate communication of falls to medical assistance. The aim of this work is to present a novel wavelet-based approach to fall detection, focusing on the impact phase and using a dataset ...

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Modeling hepatic fibrosis in TP53 knockout iPSC‐derived human liver organoids
This study developed iPSC‐derived human liver organoids with TP53 gene knockout to model human liver fibrosis. These organoids showed elevated myofibroblast activation, early disease markers, and advanced fibrotic hallmarks. The use of profibrotic differentiation medium further amplified the fibrotic signature seen in the organoids.

Study of one class boundary method classifiers for application in a video-based fall detection system [PDF]
In this paper, we introduce a video-based robust fall detection system for monitoring an elderly person in a smart room environment. Video features, namely the centroid and orientation of a voxel person, are extracted.

Falling motion detection algorithm based on deep learning
Falling is a significant cause of injuries and even death in the elderly. The timely detection of the fall action helps to rescue people who may have physical health problems due to the fall, so fall detection is necessary. The traditional fall detection
