Stone Meteorites: Time of Fall and Origin
Science, 1968The fact that twice as many chondritic meteorites are observed falling in the afternoon as in the morning is not believed to be primarily of social origin, but to be a dynamic effect. Monte Carlo calculations show that the observed afternoon excess is not compatible with a lunar or Apollo asteroidal origin.

Public Spending Falls for First Time
Science, 1995Tokyo—Research spending by the Japanese government fell last year for the first time in 41 years, although officials expect this year's total to be higher. Spending by the private sector also declined, for the third consecutive year.
