Cancer‐associated mutations in endometriosis reframe a benign disease through molecular oncology

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review aims to comprehensively analyse cancer‐associated somatic mutations (CAMs) present in endometriotic lesions, emphasizing their biological roles, spatial distribution and implications for translational applications in medicine. By contextualizing a benign state within a genomic framework, this analysis seeks to establish its value as a ...

Mitochondrial SLC25A46 Rewires Fatty Acid Oxidation to Promote Cell Proliferation and Ferroptosis Evasion in Ovarian Cancer by Stabilizing CACT

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Mitochondrial SLC25A46 is upregulated in ovarian cancer (OC) and correlates with poor prognosis. SLC25A46 stabilizes CACT to activate fatty acid oxidation, increasing ATP and NADPH production to drive cell proliferation and ferroptosis evasion. SLC25A46 silencing sensitizes OC cells to ferroptosis and carboplatin, offering a promising therapeutic ...

WFS1 Deficiency Impairs PIAS4‐Associated SUMOylation and Increases Ubiquitin‐Mediated Spermatogenesis‐Related Protein Degradation Leading to Testicular Male Infertility

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The findings establish a critical role for WFS1 in human male fertility. Mechanistically, WFS1 interacts with PIAS4 to promote the SUMOylation of key spermatogenesis‐associated proteins, which in turn competitively inhibits their K48‐linked ubiquitin‐mediated degradation during spermatogenesis.

Stage IA1 HPV-associated cervical squamous cell carcinoma metastasizing to ovary by special pathway: a case report and literature review

open access: yesJournal of Ovarian Research, 2022
Background As the leading cancer of the female reproductive tract, it is not uncommon for human papilloma virus (HPV)-associated cervical squamous cell carcinoma (HPV-CSCC) to metastasize to pelvic organs and lymph nodes in advanced stages.

How the HTAR will contribute to a value‐based decision‐making for medicinal products across the EU

open access: yesBritish Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, EarlyView.
The European Union Health Technology Regulation 2021/2282 (HTAR) introduces joint assessment of health technologies (including medicinal products and medical devices) across EU Member States. It was signed into law in 2021 and came into full force in January 2025.

Bioinformatics and system biology approaches to identify molecular pathogenesis of polycystic ovarian syndrome, type 2 diabetes, obesity, and cardiovascular disease that are linked to the progression of female infertility

open access: yesInformatics in Medicine Unlocked, 2022
Female infertility may be caused by several medical conditions and environmental factors that induce fallopian tube damage or hormonal difficulties. Several metabolic comorbidities like polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), type 2 diabetes (T2D), obesity ...

Monitoring pharmacodynamic and molecular drug targets in liquid biopsy: Exploratory study in liver cancer with modelling of EGFR Receptor engagement

open access: yesBritish Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Abstract Aim Liquid biopsy is minimally invasive (compared with tissue biopsy) and has previously been used to generate systems data regarding drug elimination via hepatic enzymes and transporters. This study extends quantitative assessment of systems parameters in liquid biopsy to pharmacodynamic (PD) and disease markers relevant to cancer development

Low‐Grade Serous Carcinoma in Association With Endosalpingiosis in a Cervical Lymph Node: A Case Report and Literature Review

open access: yesDiagnostic Cytopathology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Endosalpingiosis is a benign Müllerian inclusion that rarely involves supradiaphragmatic lymph nodes. Malignant transformation in the setting of nodal endosalpingiosis is exceptional. We report a case of low‐grade serous carcinoma arising in a cervical lymph node in the setting of endosalpingiosis in a 41‐year‐old woman presenting with Horner ...

Cross‐Regulation Between DNA Methylation and Circadian Clock Reprogramming in Ovarian Cancer: Mechanistic Insights, Biomarker Potential, and Therapeutic Implications

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Early diagnosis remains challenging, recurrence rates remain high, and platinum resistance frequently develops in ovarian cancer (OC), collectively representing major barriers to long‐term patient survival. DNA methylation (DNAm), as a relatively stable yet dynamically modifiable epigenetic signature, can capture alterations in tumor states ...
