Association between depression diagnosis and educational attainment trajectories: an historical cohort study using linked data

open access: yesJournal of Child Psychology and Psychiatry, Volume 64, Issue 11, Page 1617-1627, November 2023., 2023
Background Depression symptoms are thought to be associated with lower educational attainment, but patterns of change in attainment among those who receive a clinical diagnosis of depression at any point during childhood and adolescence remain unclear. Methods We conducted a secondary analysis of an existing data linkage between a national educational ...

Learning outcomes in primary school children with emotional problems: a prospective cohort study

open access: yesChild and Adolescent Mental Health, Volume 28, Issue 3, Page 377-384, September 2023., 2023
Background Academic difficulties are common in adolescents with mental health problems. Although earlier childhood emotional problems, characterised by heightened anxiety and depressive symptoms are common forerunners to adolescent mental health problems, the degree to which mental health problems in childhood may contribute independently to academic ...

L’inférence dans les romans judiciaires d’Émile Gaboriau

open access: yesOrbis Litterarum, Volume 77, Issue 6, Page 386-404, December 2022., 2022

Integrating water quality monitoring and diatom community trends to determine landscape‐level change in protected lakes

open access: yesEcosphere, Volume 13, Issue 8, August 2022., 2022
Abstract Lakes in protected or remote regions are not immune to anthropogenic impacts and face a variety of stressors ranging from atmospheric deposition of pollutants to global climate change. Monitoring programs in these lakes can be limited in scope due to sampling logistics, leaving an incomplete picture of how the systems may be impacted by ...

Coming together: Embodied and pre‐reflective interaction in The Plague

open access: yesOrbis Litterarum, Volume 77, Issue 2, Page 126-141, April 2022., 2022
Abstract Albert Camus’s The Plague has often been investigated as a moral deliberation on humans’ responsibilities in the face of a deadly threat, be it as an allegory of World War Two or in a more general fashion. In this article, I argue that by looking at the pre‐reflective and embodied aspects of the interaction between the protagonists, the novel ...

Biodiversity patterns of Arctic diatom assemblages in lakes and streams: Current reference conditions and historical context for biomonitoring

open access: yesFreshwater Biology, Volume 67, Issue 1, Page 116-140, January 2022., 2022
Abstract Comprehensive assessments of contemporary diatom distributions across the Arctic remain scarce. Furthermore, studies tracking species compositional differences across space and time, as well as diatom responses to climate warming, are mainly limited to paleolimnological studies due to a lack of routine monitoring in lakes and streams across ...

Improving the framework for assessment of ecological change in the Arctic: A circumpolar synthesis of freshwater biodiversity

open access: yesFreshwater Biology, Volume 67, Issue 1, Page 210-223, January 2022., 2022
Abstract Climate warming and subsequent landscape transformations result in rapid ecological change in Arctic freshwaters. Here we provide a synthesis of the diversity of benthic diatoms, plankton, macrophytes, macroinvertebrates, and fish in Arctic freshwaters.

Tree line advance reduces mixing and oxygen concentrations in arctic–alpine lakes through wind sheltering and organic carbon supply

open access: yesGlobal Change Biology, Volume 27, Issue 18, Page 4238-4253, September 2021., 2021
Shoreline vegetation is a major driver of mixing and oxygen dynamics in arctic–alpine lakes. Shoreline trees shelter lakes from wind and reduce lake mixing, and increase the transfer from land to water of dissolved organic carbon, a substrate for bacterial respiration.
