False aneurysm of the radial artery
The Journal of Hand Surgery, 1985A 22-year-old man presented a large false aneurysm of the radial artery in the middle third of the forearm. The clinical course of 18 patients with 25 false aneurysms is reviewed. In recent years false aneurysm has been most commonly seen as a complication of arterioplastic procedures in which prosthetic arterial grafts were used. The use of indwelling needles or cannulae, particularly in patients with a wide arterial pulse pressure, can also lead to the ...

The Journal of Trauma: Injury, Infection, and Critical Care, 1978An unusual case of traumatic false aneurysm following a puncture wound in the hand of a hemophiliac, despite Factor VIII replacement, demonstrates the necessity for careful evaluation of such patients when there is profuse and continued bleeding. Many types of surgical procedures have been devised in an attempt to cure arterial aneurysms. Antyllus and Purmann were outstanding pioneers in this field. The technique devised by Hunter (proximal ligation of the artery) was practiced because of the dangers inherent in the direct surgical approach to an aneurysm.

Pathological changes of anastomotic false aneurysms
The Japanese Journal of Surgery, 1979Anastomotic parts of polyester vascular prostheses implanted in thoracic aortae of 270 dogs were examined. Anastomotic false aneurysms were seen with 3 cases (1.2%), in which disruption did not occur, however, the grafts which have no aneurysm showed the following features, i.e., suture migration, degenerative changes of the host arterial wall ...
