The KELT Follow-up Network and Transit False-positive Catalog: Pre-vetted False Positives for TESS [PDF]
The Kilodegree Extremely Little Telescope (KELT) project has been conducting a photometric survey of transiting planets orbiting bright stars for over 10 years. The KELT images have a pixel scale of ~23'' pixel−1—very similar to that of NASA's Transiting

Uncovering a blind spot in sensitive question research : false positives undermine the crosswise-model RRT [PDF]
Erworben im Rahmen der Schweizer Nationallizenzen (http://www.nationallizenzen.ch)Validly measuring sensitive issues such as norm violations or stigmatizing traits through self-reports in surveys is often problematic.

Copyright False Positives [PDF]
Copyright enforcement is riddled with false positives. A false positive occurs when enforcement actions are taken against uses that are not actual infringements.

An experimental assessment of
Background To assess the utility of haplotype association mapping (HAM) as a quantitative trait locus (QTL) discovery tool, we conducted HAM analyses for red blood cell count (RBC) and high density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL) in mice.

Achieving high accuracy prediction of minimotifs. [PDF]
The low complexity of minimotif patterns results in a high false-positive prediction rate, hampering protein function prediction. A multi-filter algorithm, trained and tested on a linear regression model, support vector machine model, and neural network ...

Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.
