Optimal Search Density for a Stationary Target Among Stationary False Targets

Operations Research, 1993
This paper considers rational methods for the design of search densities when the intended target is stationary among stationary, Poisson-distributed false contacts. Attention is restricted to situations in which the searcher must immediately decide, based on sensed information, whether a contact is the intended target and, if the answer is yes, end ...

Consensus-based Distributed Target Tracking in the Presence of Active False Targets

2021 IEEE 2nd International Conference on Big Data, Artificial Intelligence and Internet of Things Engineering (ICBAIE), 2021
Multi-station radar fusion of detecting and tracking targets is currently a promising research direction, especially in the presence of active false targets. However, the existing researches are mainly based on the centralized radar network. In this regard, this paper proposes a target tracking algorithm based on data-level fusion in distributed ...

Study on reducing false targets for automotive radar

Proceedings 7th International Conference on Signal Processing, 2004. Proceedings. ICSP '04. 2004., 2005
New waveform for millimeter-wave automotive anti-collision radar is proposed. It greatly improves the response characteristic of radar system and partly reduces the false alarm of the radar. The effective algorithm is introduced to further eliminate false targets in multiple targets circumstances. Simulation results show that the method is effective.

Object defense with preventive strike and false targets

Reliability Engineering & System Safety, 2018
Abstract In this paper, optimal strategies for the defender and the attacker are studied. The defender moves first, allocating its limited resources into three diverse measures: launching a preventive strike, building false targets, and protecting the genuine object.

Adaptive cancellation for multiple range false radar targets

2013 6th International Congress on Image and Signal Processing (CISP), 2013
The adaptation of deception electronic attack (EA) for radars has been facilitated by the availability of digital radio frequency memories. This paper proposed a method to employ stretch processing to reject range false targets (RFT) produced by a hostile EA system that present low detection probabilities of the true targets due to high jammer-to ...

Target acquisition and false alarms in clutter

Optical Engineering, 1995
Recent studies on low-observable target acquisition relate clutter to traditional true- and false-detection performance parameters. This paper presents modified definitions of the target signature and clutter in the image plane and their relation to alternative metrics.

Multiple false targets jamming method based on FIFO

2016 Progress in Electromagnetic Research Symposium (PIERS), 2016
Efficient active jamming method against modern high resolution radars has been an important research topic in recent decades. The proposed researches introduce many methods to produce false targets jamming or noise depressing jamming. But many of them are somewhat complicated, with too much computing resources, and not possible to be implemented.

Target attribute-based false alarm rejection in small infrared target detection

SPIE Proceedings, 2012
Infrared search and track is an important research area in military applications. Although there are a lot of works on small infrared target detection methods, we cannot apply them in real field due to high false alarm rate caused by clutters. This paper presents a novel target attribute extraction and machine learning-based target discrimination ...

False alarm mitigation techniques for hyperspectral target detection

SPIE Proceedings, 2013
A challenging problem of major importance in hyperspectral imaging applications is the detection of subpixel objects of military and civilian interest. High false alarm thresholds are required to detect subpixel objects due to the large amount of surrounding background clutter.
