Biostratigraphy of Famennian in Hainan Island, South China

Science in China Series D: Earth Sciences, 2001
On the basis of the faunas including conodonts Palmatolepis gracilis sigmoidalis, P. gracilis gracilis, Polygnathus germanus, which are found for the first time, and corals Cystophrentis kalaohoensis it is confirmed that the Changjiang Formation refers to the Famennian, and may correlate with the Shaodong Formation and Menggongao Formation of central ...

Morphological Evolution of Eurasian Bryozoans during Famennian–Tournaisian

Paleontological Journal, 2021
The main trends in the morphological evolution of bryozoans at the Devonian-Carboniferous boundary were established when studying the Late Devonian–Early Mississippian bryozoans of Eurasia. The diversity of vertical colonies increased from Early Famennian to Late Tournaisian. An increase in their strength occurred by growth of the exozonal skeleton due

Carbon isotope geochemistry of the Frasnian–Famennian transition

Palaeogeography, Palaeoclimatology, Palaeoecology, 2002
Abstract Carbon isotope records for inorganic and total organic carbon (TOC) as well as for individual organic biomarkers show two positive excursions in the Late Frasnian with comparable shape and amplitude in δ13C. The positive shifts in δ13C can be correlated with the deposition of the Kellwasser horizons.

A Possible Bacterial Origin for Famennian Micrites

1977
Since Drew (1911), the role of bacterias for preCipitation of calciwn carbonates (marine) has been recognized. Their biochemical effects on orgaDic sludge have been tentatively demonstrated by Trichet (1967–1972) and other workers. It should be stressed that blue-green algae playa passive role, as providers of organic substrate.

Late and latest Famennian conodonts at the Malpasso section.

2017
Conodont biostratigraphic and taxonomic analysis of the Malpasso section were presented by Perri & Spalletta (1991, 1998). The abundant ammonoid fauna was studied by Korn & House (1997) and Korn (1998). In Spalletta & Perri (2001) the section was proposed as possible candidate for the subdivision of the Famennian.
