Course of Pregnancy in a Woman With Familial Chylomicronemia Syndrome Treated With Plozasiran, a Small Interfering RNA Against ApoC3

open access: yesJIMD Reports, Volume 67, Issue 1, January 2026.
ABSTRACT Persistent chylomicronemia is associated with severe hypertriglyceridemia (sHTG) and plasma triglycerides (TG) levels sustainably > 10 mmol/L (880 mg/dL) despite lipid lowering therapies. The main risk of persistent chylomicronemia is acute pancreatitis (AP). During the second and third trimester of pregnancy, TG levels significantly increase,

Engaging Patients in Learning Health Systems Research Using Human Centered Design: A Scoping Review

open access: yesLearning Health Systems, Volume 10, Issue 1, January 2026.
ABSTRACT Introduction The “Learning Health System” (LHS) relies on meaningful patient and public engagement to foster innovation in healthcare. However, effective methods for involving these stakeholders in LHS research are unclear. This scoping review examines the use of Human‐Centered Design (HCD) to engage patients and the public in LHS research ...

Navigating Solute Carrier Transporters—A Comprehensive Review of Functionalized Small Molecule Probes for Target Identification and Characterization

open access: yesMedicinal Research Reviews, Volume 46, Issue 1, Page 238-271, January 2026.
ABSTRACT Solute carrier transporters (SLCs) are integral membrane proteins that play pivotal roles in maintaining cellular homeostasis by mediating the transport of a diverse range of substrates across cell membranes. With their involvement in fundamental physiological processes such as nutrient uptake, neurotransmitter signaling, and drug transport ...

Unfermented High‐Fiber Rye Crispbread Increases Plasma HDL and Reduces Hepatic Lipids Compared to Refined Wheat in Rats Fed a High‐Fat Diet

open access: yesMolecular Nutrition &Food Research, Volume 70, Issue 1, January 2026.
This study compared the effects of whole grain fermented and unfermented rye crispbread with refined wheat on body weight and lipid metabolism in rats. Unfermented rye crispbread increased plasma HDL‐cholesterol and reduced hepatic triacylglycerols and cholesterol compared to refined wheat, indicating favorable lipid‐modulating effects.

Lipid Nanoparticles for Delivery of CRISPR Gene Editing Components

open access: yesSmall Methods, Volume 10, Issue 2, 22 January 2026.
The review presents a comprehensive overview of each component of lipid nanoparticles(LNPs)and their effects on editing efficiency. It specifically highlights strategies for achieving non‐liver delivery, aiming for broader applications in gene editing. Furthermore, this review summarizes the applications of LNPs in gene editing and offers insights for ...
