Public Target Selection and Family Firms
We examine the relation between ownership structure and M&A target selection when family firms pursue public firm acquisitions. We find that family firm acquirers select targets that have lower Tobin’s Q relative to non-family acquirers.

Jatropha half-sib family selection with high adaptability and genotypic stability. [PDF]
Jatropha (Jatropha curcas) has become one of the most important species for producing biofuels. Currently, Genotype x Environment (GxE) interaction is the biggest challenge that breeders should solve to increase the section accuracy in the plant breeding.

Analysis of Fiber Quality Using Modern Technology in Cotton Seed Production [PDF]
The quality of the fiber samples prepared for analysis in the laboratories of the elite seed production of cotton until recently using the LPS-4 equipment, which was put into production in the early 60s of the last century, about 300 test samples picked ...

Selecting families and their applications
Extending the result of \textit{P.\,Deguire} and \textit{M.\,Lassonde} [Topol.\ Methods Nonlinear Anal.\ 5, No.\,2, 261--269 (1995; Zbl 0877.54017)], the authors present the following theorem. Let \(X\) be a paracompact space and \(\{Y_i\}_{i \in I}\) a family of convex subsets of Hausdorff topological vector spaces.

Regional selection acting on the OFD1 gene family. [PDF]
The OFD1 (oral-facial-digital, type 1) gene is implicated in several developmental disorders in humans. The X-linked OFD1 (OFD1X) is conserved in Eutheria. Knowledge about the Y-linked paralog (OFD1Y) is limited.

COMPARATIVE STUDIES BETWEEN TWO SELECTION METHODS FOR IMPROVEMENT OF YELLOW MAIZE POPULATION YIELD [PDF]
Recurrent selection is the most common mean for indirectly enhancing inbred lines performance by enhancing the performance of their sources of populations. We compared the effectiveness of two intrapopulation selection methods of S1 progeny and half-sib
