INTERNAL FAMILY SYSTEMS THERAPY FOR CHILDREN IN FAMILY THERAPY
Journal of Marital and Family Therapy, 2001This article presents a developmentally supported implementation of Internal Family Systems Therapy for school‐age children and their families. Relevant developmental characteristics of children are described. Suggestions for working with parents, child‐oriented interventions, and a case example are presented.

Abstract Conventional family therapies such as Structural, Systemic, Satirian, Adlerian and Dreikursion seem to be marked by cultural biases and give an indication of one single culture orientation. These seem to represent the cultural majority norms and values in acting as oppressive tools in a multi cultural society.
