Power efficiency improvement in cladding pumping technique for annular 12-core doped fiber amplifier using vortex lens and beam fanner

Optik, 2021
Abstract Cladding pumping is a common method to amplify signal channels in space-division multiplexing (SDM) systems. A high-power laser pump is directly launched to multi-core doped fiber (MCDF), and depending on the arrangement of cores in the MCDF, a small fraction of power goes to each core and amplifies the signal.

Simulation Analysis of Vector Control of Fuzzy-PID System Based on Mine Fanner Load

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2014
In this paper, through analysis on characteristics of the operation of the mine fanner, According to the requirement of low speed and smooth operation and quick response for AC speed regulating system of mine fanner, a new control system that based on vector control of Fuzzy-PID was designed.

The Fanner Honey Bee: Behavioral Variability and Environmental Cues in Workers Performing a Specialized Task

Journal of Insect Behavior, 2012
We tested the hypothesis that Apis mellifera workers exhibit plasticity in moving from fanning to guarding behavior. Bees marked when fanning are more likely to guard than fan on subsequent days, but guard to fanner reversals were common. Our findings suggest that bees can switch between these tasks, but that their bias between the two tasks changes ...

New common mathematical models of fanners performance based on the partial least squares regression method

2002 IEEE Region 10 Conference on Computers, Communications, Control and Power Engineering. TENCOM '02. Proceedings., 2003
In this paper, the partial least squares regression (PLS) method is adopted for the first time to solve the multivariate and nonlinear surface fitting problem of fanner regulation performance. With this new method, two new types of optimizing mathematical models (PLS1 and PLS2) are developed, and the detailed steps for doing so are also given.
