Double Fano resonance based on Fabry-Perot mode and asymmetric waveguide mode
Fano resonance effect has potential applications in many nanophotonics devices, Such as switch, sensor, and modulators. To realize double Fano resonance effect, in this paper, we present a novel coupling mechanism in a multi-layer metamaterial structure.

Fano Enhancement of Unlocalized Nonlinear Optical Processes [PDF]
Field localization boosts nonlinear optical processes at the hot spots of metal nanostructures. Fano resonances can further enhance these "local" processes taking place at the hot spots.

Two-Way Fano Resonance Switch in Plasmonic Metamaterials
A two-way Fano resonance switch in the plasmonic metamaterials has been proposed and experimentally demonstrated. The electrical Fano switch is composed of two concentric spoof localized surface plasmon (LSP) resonators.

Glycerol concentration sensor based on the MIM waveguide structure
Glycerol is widely used in medicine, industry and skin care products. This study investigated a high-sensitivity glycerol concentration sensor based on double Fano resonances in a metal-insulator-metal (MIM) waveguide structure, established a coupling ...

We theoretically investigate coupled Fano structures which combine the characteristics of both directly coupled Fabry-Perot cavities (DCFPC) and a side-coupled integrated spaced sequence of resonators (SCISSOR). Asymmetric and symmetric Fano resonances in a single and doubly-coupled Fano unit are analytically derived based on Fabry-Perot approach.

Generally, the plasmonic Fano resonances can be divided into two types: the electric and the magnetic Fano resonance. Compared to pure electric or magnetic multiple Fano resonances, the mixed electric/magnetic multiple Fano resonances provide more

Photoinduced Fano-resonance of coherent phonons in zinc [PDF]
Utilizing femtosecond optical pump-probe technique, we have studied transient Fano-resonance in zinc. At high excitation levels the Fourier spectrum of the coherent E$_{2g}$ phonon exhibits strongly asymmetric line shape, which is well modeled by the ...
