Abstract Two far i.r. lines from a pulsed helium laser have been accurately measured with a metal grid Fabry-Perot interferometer at wavelengths of 95.763 ± 0.006 μm and 216.12 ± 0.01μm. The laser output critically depends on the plasma conditions in the laser during the excitation phase.

Far-infrared CH_3F Stark laser
Optics Letters, 1979A rectangular metal–dielectric far-infrared waveguide laser has been operated on the individual Stark components of CH3F by the application an electric field across the laser medium. The results agree well with theoretical predictions.

The amplitude noise of optically pumped cw FIR lasers is drastically reduced by using a FIR ring resonator instead of a linear resonator. Tunable Far Infrared Laser Spectroscopy
Annual Meeting Optical Society of America, 1988Tunable far-infrared (FIR) radiation has been generated using CO2 laser difference generation in metal-insulator-metal diodes either from the difference between a fixed frequency CO2 laser and a tunable waveguide laser, or from the difference between two fixed frequency CO2 lasers plus microwave sidebands.

A 100 μm wavelength Cerenkov laser experiment has been planned. The device will be driven by a 5 MeV, 2 A (peak] microtron accelerator and the resonator will be a thin-film-loaded planar structure. Summaries of the theoretically-expected device performance and experimental progress will be presented.

Optically Pumped Far Infrared Lasers
1974 International Conference on Submillimeter Waves and Their Applications, 1974Intense superradiant laser action on a pure rotational transition in optically pumped CH3F has been recently reported. 1,2 It is the purpose of this paper to present a parametric study on similar superradiant transitions observed in other molecules.
