Between the Wave Energy Converters (WECs) of a farm, hydrodynamic interactions occur and have an impact on the surrounding wave field, both close to the WECs (“near field„ effects) and at large distances from their location (“far field

Effluent Mixing Modeling for Liquefied Natural Gas Outfalls in a Coastal Ecosystem
Liquid Natural Gas (LNG) processing facilities typically are located on ocean shores for easy transport of LNG by marine vessels. These plants use large quantities of water for various process streams.

Three-Dimensional Near-Field to Far-Field Transformation for Radar Cross Section Estimation of Elongated Targets via Subdimensional Hybrid Conversion [PDF]
Image-based (IB) near-field to far-field transformation (NFFFT) is a useful method for the valid prediction of radar cross sections (RCSs) from short-range monostatic measurements.

Far-field optical nanoscopy [PDF]
In 1873, Ernst Abbe discovered what was to become a well-known paradigm: the inability of a lens-based optical microscope to discern details that are closer together than half of the wavelength of light. However, for its most popular imaging mode, fluorescence microscopy, the diffraction barrier is crumbling.

For renewable wave energy to operate at grid scale, large arrays of Wave Energy Converters (WECs) need to be deployed in the ocean. Due to the hydrodynamic interactions between the individual WECs of an array, the overall power absorption and surrounding

Divergence gating towards far-field isolated attosecond pulses
Divergence gating, a novel method to generate far-field isolated attosecond pulses (IAPs) through controlling divergences of different pulses, is proposed and realized by relativistic chirped laser–plasma interactions.

Far-field and near-field optical trapping [PDF]
Optical trapping techniques have become an important and irreplaceable tool in many research disciplines for reaching non-invasively into the microscopic world and to manipulate, cut, assemble and transform micro-objects with nanometer precision and sub ...

Far-Field Autofluorescence Nanoscopy [PDF]
We demonstrate far-field optical imaging at the nanoscale with unlabeled samples. Subdiffraction resolution images of autofluorescent samples are obtained by depleting the ground state of natural fluorophores by transferring them to a metastable dark state and simultaneously localizing those fluorophores that are transiently returning.

The research of improved MUSIC algorithm based on far field sound source localization
Systemic research has been done on the thesis of far field sound source localization combined characteristics of the speech signal in this paper. An improved MUSIC algorithm is proposed based on the traditional MUSIC algorithm in far-field of microphone ...

Far-Field and Near-Field Investigation of Longitudinal Plasmons of AgAuAg Nanorods [PDF]
We studied the localized surface plasmons of AgAuAg-nanorods (NRs) using far-field dark-field spectro-microscopy and scattering-type scanning near-field optical microscopy (sSNOM) techniques. We observe that the far-field scattering spectra of individual
