Probing polaritons in the mid- to far-infrared

Journal of Applied Physics, 2019
The long free-space wavelengths associated with the mid- to far-infrared spectral range impose significant limitations on the form factor of associated optic and electro-optic components.

Far infrared imagery

Applied Optics, 1976
Active imaging experiments are described in the 300 microm-l mm-region of the far infrared (FIR) spectrum. Transmission data are presented for a wide variety of common materials indicating the range of applicability of FIR imaging to law enforcement or nondestructive testing.

A Far Infrared Spectrometer

Applied Optics, 1970
A moderate resolution vacuum far in spectrometer has been built with a data acquisition system designed for computer processing of the data. The spectral range of the instrument is 20-1600 micro. Sensitive low temperature bolometer detectors have been made of doubly doped silicon. The radiation filtering scheme is discussed in detail.

Far-Red to Near-Infrared Carbon Dots: Preparation and Applications in Biotechnology.

Small, 2019
As novel fluorescent nanomaterials, carbon dots (CDs) exhibit excellent photostability, good biocompatibility, and high quantum yield (QY). Their superior properties make them promising candidates for biomedical assays and therapy.

Highly Efficient Photosensitizers with Far‐Red/Near‐Infrared Aggregation‐Induced Emission for In Vitro and In Vivo Cancer Theranostics

Advances in Materials, 2018
Fluorescence‐imaging‐guided photodynamic therapy has emerged as a promising protocol for cancer theranostics. However, facile preparation of such a theranostic material for simultaneously achieving bright emission with long wavelength, high‐performance ...

FAR-INFRARED AND SUPERCONDUCTIVITY

Infrared Physics, 1976
Abstract A review of the electrodynamics of superconductors is presented, neglecting questions related to the Josephson-effect. Following a historical introduction, the experimental techniques are sketched. A more detailed analysis of the high-frequency electrodynamics of metals is given, and the influence of temperature, strong-coupling effects ...

Far infrared photoconductors

SPIE Proceedings, 1990
The SAFIRE (Spectroscopy of the Atmosphere using Far-Infrared Emission) spaceborne instrument is discussed. The aim of SAFIRE is to improve understanding of the ozone distribution in the middle atmosphere by conducting global scale measurements of the important chemical, radiative, and dynamical processes which influence it changes.

Far-infrared Fizeau interferometry [PDF]

open access: possibleApplied Optics, 2001
We present an interferometry using a far-infrared light as a tool for surface topography measurement of rough reflective surfaces. The method is based on the optical configuration of classical Fizeau interferometry, but we achieve roughness tolerance by using a long-wavelength infrared light (lambda = 10.6 mum). The method is called far-infrared Fizeau
