Optimized Liquid-Phase Exfoliation of Magnetic van der Waals Heterostructures: Towards the Single Layer and Deterministic Fabrication of Devices

open access: yesMolecules, 2021
Van der Waals magnetic materials are promising candidates for spintronics and testbeds for exotic magnetic phenomena in low dimensions. The two-dimensional (2D) limit in these materials is typically reached by mechanically breaking the van der Waals ...

Faraday patterns in coupled one-dimensional dipolar condensates

open access: yes, 2012
We study Faraday patterns in quasi-one-dimensional dipolar Bose-Einstein condensates with parametrically driven dipolar interactions. We show that in the presence of a roton minimum in the excitation spectrum, the emergent Faraday waves differ ...

Handbook of Establishing and Maintaining Oxygen‐Free Atmospheres

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents a practical framework for creating oxygen‐free atmospheres at ambient pressure using silane‐doped inert gases. The results show that ultra‐low oxygen levels and strongly reduced water content can be achieved through controlled silane dosing, drying systems, and sensor monitoring.

An apolipoprotein B antisense oligonucleotide lowers LDL cholesterol in hyperlipidemic mice without causing hepatic steatosis

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 2005
High levels of plasma apolipoprotein B-100 (apoB-100), the principal apolipoprotein of LDL, are associated with cardiovascular disease. We hypothesized that suppression of apoB-100 mRNA by an antisense oligonucleotide (ASO) would reduce LDL cholesterol ...

Major Challenges towards Energy Management and Power Sharing in a Hybrid AC/DC Microgrid: A Review

open access: yesEnergies, 2022
A fundamental strategy for utilizing green energy from renewable sources to tackle global warming is the microgrid (MG). Due to the predominance of AC microgrids in the existing power system and the substantial increase in DC power generation and DC load

Depolarization of synchrotron radiation in a multilayer magneto-ionic medium [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Depolarization of diffuse radio synchrotron emission is classified in terms of wavelength-independent and wavelength-dependent depolarization in the context of regular magnetic fields and of both isotropic and anisotropic turbulent magnetic fields ...

Direct Metal Deposition of Graphene–Ti28Nb35.4Zr Matrix Composites With Enhanced Mechanical, Corrosion, and Biocompatibility Properties for Bone Implants

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Graphene nanoplatelet (0.1 wt.%) reinforcement significantly enhances the performance of β Ti‐28Nb‐35.4Zr alloy. Grain refinement, reduced water contact angle, and improved surface characteristics promote osteoblast adhesion and complete surface coverage after 7 days.

Growth, Faraday and inverse Faraday characteristics of Tb_2Ti_2O_7 crystal

open access: yesOptics Express, 2016
Tb2Ti2O7 (TTO) single crystal with dimensions of 20 × 20 × 16 mm3 was grown by the Czochralski method. Rietveld structure refinement of X-ray diffraction (XRD) data confirms that the compound crystallizes in the cubic system with pyrochlore structure.
