Monitoring Hydrogen Crossover Through Commercial Separators via a Facile In Situ Electrochemical Detection Method

open access: yesChemElectroChem, Volume 13, Issue 12, 17 June 2026.
A fast, low‐cost electrochemical method to monitor hydrogen crossover in lab‐scale, ambient‐pressure electrolysis cells is presented. Using a four‐electrode setup and combining voltammetry and chronoamperometry, six commercial separators are compared in three different electrolytes, reliably distinguishing those with high hydrogen impermeability ...

Magnetically Decoupled Janus Bound States in the Continuum for Chirality–Topology Control

open access: yesNanophotonics, Volume 15, Issue 11, 13 June 2026.
This article demonstrates the Janus BICs, which are bi‐layer photonic crystal (PhCs) structures composed of C3v and magneto‐optical C6v symmetry slabs. It offers a unique platform for independent controlling chirality and topological charge, which successfully realizes the decoupling of topological charge and chirality.

Anion Mobility Renormalization Reveals Backbone‐Dependent Tortuosity in Anion Exchange Membranes

open access: yesChemElectroChem, Volume 13, Issue 11, 3 June 2026.
Backbone polarity governs nanophase separation and tortuosity in anion exchange membranes (AEMs). The anion mobility across PPO‐ and PSU‐based ionomer membranes with quaternary ammonium groups depends exponentially on concentration. Extracted porosity–tortuosity ratios reveal lower tortuosity in PPO due to stronger PSU hydrophilicity.
