Harmonizing Rigidity and Flexibility: Embedding COF Quantum Dots Into Extracellular Matrix Gel as Carbon Monoxide Depot for Acoustically Triggered Time‐Programmable Anti‐Infective Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A rigid‑flexible integrated CO depot is engineered by embedding rigid COFQDs into a flexible ECM gel network. The rigid framework enables high‑capacity CO storage and sonodynamic bacterial killing, while the flexible ECM gel controls sustained CO release, collectively eradicating multidrug‑resistant infection and promoting scarless healing.

Short communication: Absence of campylobacter spp. In intensive rabbit farming in eastern Spain, preliminary results

open access: yesWorld Rabbit Science, 2016
Campylobacteriosis and salmonellosis are the most frequently reported zoonoses and among the most common causes of diarrhoeal illness in the European Union and the United States, and their incidence appears to be increasing.

Trade-offs in livestock development at farm level: Different actors with different objectives

open access: yesGlobal Food Security, 2018
The livestock sector in Low and Middle Income Countries (LMICs) is evolving. In response to growing demand for livestock products, it is likely that smallholder production systems will experience varying forms of intensification.

Pyrazole‐Derived Antibacterial Compounds Effectively Treat Methicillin‐Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus Infections by Inhibiting Aspartate Transcarbamoylase

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study unveils a novel antibacterial mechanism against MRSA, in which the compound Py‐27 selectively targets and inhibits aspartate transcarbamoylase (ATCase), a key enzyme in pyrimidine synthesis. This inhibition disrupts DNA replication, induces oxidative damage, leading to potent bactericidal activity.

Critical factors for crop-livestock integration beyond the farm level: A cross-analysis of worldwide case studies

open access: yes, 2018
Despite their recognized agricultural sustainability benefits, mixed crop-livestock farms have declined in the Northern hemisphere. As such, crop-livestock integration beyond the farm level is a promising alternative to this trend, but the knowledge of ...

Integrated Single‐Nucleus Multi‐Omics Atlases Reveal Lineage Plasticity and Regulatory Networks of Luminal Epithelial Cells During Mammary Gland Lactation and Involution

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study integrates single‐cell multi‐omics, spatial transcriptomics, and cross‐species comparative analyses to systematically characterize the cellular composition and differentiation trajectories of goat mammary epithelial cells, along with the gene regulatory networks and intercellular communication mechanisms governing these trajectories, thereby

Determinants of Farm Household Income Diversification in the United States: Evidence from Farm-Level Data [PDF]

open access: yes
This study examines the determinants of income diversification of farm households in the United States. Farm households allocate their time between farm and off-farm activities to help stabilized household income (consumption).

Bio‐Inspired Gradient Coatings Enhance the Leading Edge Erosion Resistance of Wind Blades

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Rain‐induced erosion of the wind turbine blade leading edge poses a critical challenge to maintenance and operation. Here, we propose a bio‐inspired approach for erosion protection utilising a platelet‐reinforced polyurethane coating with a graded through‐thickness architecture.
