Farm Equipment Noise Exposure Levels
American Industrial Hygiene Association Journal, 1968Abstract Noise levels recorded during performance tests conducted at the College of Agriculture, University of Nebraska, on 58 new tractors and 20 other types of farm machinery were of such intensity, duration, and distribution as to indicate a potential permanent noise-induced hearing loss to the agricultural worker.

Off‐farm income and farm capital accumulation: a farm‐level analysis
Agricultural Finance Review, 2007An intertemporal model in which farm capital accumulation and work choices by a single‐agent farm household are interdependent is developed and tested using a farm‐level data set. Estimation is done using a recursive two‐step simultaneous censored equations model.

Decision Making at the Farm Level
2021A key theme of this book is that producers’ economic choices are the key determinants of water quality problems. Designing and implementing policies that are effective in managing water pollution from agriculture and do so without imposing undue social costs require an understanding of farm decisions making.

The estimation of investment equations at the farm level
European Review of Agricultural Economics, 1993On the basis of annual data for individual farms, a model is estimated which explains investment by the Dutch dairy sector in land, buildings and machinery. As a farmer does not invest in all three capital goods every year, a large number of observations are clustered at zero. Because of this, the commonly used estimation methods are unsatisfactory. In

Farm modeling for policy analysis on the farm and regional level
2000The Atlantic Zone of Costa Rica accounts for nearly half of the total agricultural income in Costa Rica, and therefore is an important region for agricultural policy. Policy analysis can be performed on the regional level, using regional agricultural sector models that maximize regional welfare, as well as on the farm level, where different farm types ...

Applied Engineering in Agriculture, 1991
Cumulative breakage susceptibility, BCFM, and broken kernels were measured for samples collected as corn moved through harvesting, drying, and conveying operations on eight farms in the mid-central United States. Individual samples were evaluated for seed coat injury, stress cracks, and breakage susceptibility.

This paper identifies major issues in the development of firm level models for use by multiple participants in a regional research project. Included among the issues are the choice of equilibrium analysis framework, measures of risk, modeling scope, optimization versus nonoptimization; status versus dynamics, risk attitudes, farm structure ...
