It is obvious that well-organized occupational health care systems for farmers occur sporadically in only a few countries, and generally are in the initial stages of development.

Farmers in general, specifically in the developing countries resort to injudicious and excessive use of pesticides which is linked to the illiteracy and poverty of the rural farming community.
