Early Fasciotomy and Limb Salvage and Complications in Military Lower Extremity Vascular Injury

Fifty patients with large venous ulcers have been surgically treated by paratibial fasciotomy plus dissection of incompetent perforating veins since January 1990. The operative mortality rate was 0.0%. A single significant complication (hematoma) required a secondary operation. Forty-eight ulcers healed within 8 weeks completely.
