Contralateral necrotizing fascitis after left nephrectomy for emphysematous pyelonephritis. [PDF]
Introduction Emphysematous pyelonephritis is an acute necrotizing infection of the renal parenchyma. The management is variable, extending to total nephrectomy in severe or refractory cases. Post‐nephrectomy complications are numerous and common, necrotizing fasciitis, and sepsis being among them.

Efficacy of Prone Positioning in Non-ARDS Patients With Hypoxemic Respiratory Failure: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis. [PDF]
This meta‐analysis demonstrates that prone positioning (PP) significantly improves oxygenation and reduces the need for intubation in non‐intubated patients with hypoxemic respiratory failure (HRF) unrelated to ARDS. No significant mortality difference was observed between PP and standard care groups.

Abstract Negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT) with or without instillation has been extensively applied for patients with multiple wound types. Whether NPWT with instillation is superior to NPWT alone is not known. This study aims to compare the efficacy between negative pressure wound therapy with instillation (NPWTi) and standard negative pressure ...

Current Approaches for Personalized Therapy of Soft Tissue Sarcomas

Recurrent soft tissue inflammation, necrotizing fascitis or Sweet syndrome, diagnostic dilemma
Necrotizing Sweet syndrome is a recently described entity that can pose significant challenges for management. Although necrotizing fasciitis can be rapidly fatal in the absence of prompt surgical management, necrotizing Sweet syndrome may actually be worsened by any surgical intervention.

[Retracted] Necrotizing Fasciitis: Diagnostic Challenges and Current Practices
Necrotizing fasciitis or necrotizing soft‐tissue infections (NSTIs) are infrequent but highly lethal infections. They can be defined as infections of any of the layers within the soft tissue compartment (dermis, subcutaneous tissue, superficial fascia, deep fascia, or muscle) that are associated with necrotizing changes. At onset, necrotizing fasciitis

A pressure ulcer is a localised injury of the skin and underlying tissue that usually develops over a bony prominence. A decrease in the pressure over the bony prominence effectively prevents pressure ulcers; however, no studies have systematically assessed the physical properties of existing pressure ulcers.
