Fast-Impulse Nanothermite Solid-Propellant Miniaturized Thrusters

Journal of Propulsion and Power, 2013
Highly reactive nanothermites prepared by mixing bismuth trioxide or cupric oxide nanoparticles with aluminum nanoparticles were evaluated as solid propellants for small-scale propulsion applications. Miniaturized engines were fabricated from steel in three-piece configurations without a converging/diverging nozzle.

A fast impulsive contact suite for rigid body simulation

IEEE Transactions on Visualization and Computer Graphics, 2004
A suite of algorithms is presented for contact resolution in rigid body simulation under the Coulomb friction model: Given a set of rigid bodies with many contacts among them, resolve dynamic contacts (collisions) and static (persistent) contacts. The suite consists of four algorithms: 1) partial sequential collision resolution, 2) final resolution of ...

Instrument Voltage Transformer time-response to fast impulse

2016 17th International Conference on Harmonics and Quality of Power (ICHQP), 2016
Instrument Voltage Transformers (VT) are well known for their critical behavior when subjected to fast impulse voltages. Furthermore, the accuracy of VT is defined by IEC Standards only at power frequency and doesn't consider fast impulse response. Under these conditions the VT may introduce errors in voltage measurements and the transmitted signals ...

Characterization of Ionization Phenomena in Soils Under Fast Impulses

IEEE Transactions on Power Delivery, 2006
Protective devices such as spark gaps and surge arresters are used to divert surges to earth. It is, therefore, necessary that earthing systems are designed with a low-magnitude earth impedance value so that the overvoltage protection devices can divert high fault currents effectively to earth for all types of fault. Power frequency characterization of
