Laser‐Induced Graphene from Waste Almond Shells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Almond shells, an abundant agricultural by‐product, are repurposed to create a fully bioderived almond shell/chitosan composite (ASC) degradable in soil. ASC is converted into laser‐induced graphene (LIG) by laser scribing and proposed as a substrate for transient electronics.

Diversification of Aquaculture in the Sub-Saharan Region—The Obscure Snakehead

open access: yesFishes
The sub-Saharan region shows fast growth in aquaculture, but current production is dominated by two species, the African catfish and tilapia. In order to support the expansion of the industry and ensure food resilience of the sector, diversification is ...

Development and Function of the Cardiac Conduction System in Health and Disease

open access: yesJournal of Cardiovascular Development and Disease, 2017
The generation and propagation of the cardiac impulse is the central function of the cardiac conduction system (CCS). Impulse initiation occurs in nodal tissues that have high levels of automaticity, but slow conduction properties.

Polymer Interface Enables Reversible Quasi‐Solid Sulfur Conversion in Sodium‐Sulfur Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The polymer interface enables a stable quasi‐solid sulfur conversion pathway in room‐temperature Na─S batteries. The coating regulates Na+ transport, stabilizes the cathode–electrolyte interphase, and accommodates mechanical stress, suppressing electrolyte decomposition and sulfur migration, thereby improving reaction uniformity, reducing polarization,

A Method for Diagnosing Gearboxes of Means of Transport Using Multi-Stage Filtering and Entropy

open access: yesEntropy, 2019
The paper presents a method of processing vibration signals which was designed to detect damage to wheels of gearboxes for means of transport. This method uses entropy calculation, and multi-stage filtering calculated by means of digital filters and the ...
