Fast time-domain simulation by waveform relaxation methods

IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems I: Fundamental Theory and Applications, 1997
Summary: Fast time-domain simulation of power electronic systems by using waveform-relaxation methods is presented. Algorithms for circuit partitioning, time windowing, and simulation scheduling are developed. Practical implementation of the partitioning algorithm based on modal analysis is also discussed.

Fast timing simulation for submicron hot-carrier degradation

33rd IEEE International Reliability Physics Symposium, 1995
This paper presents a new fast timing reliability simulator ILLIADS-R which can simulate hot-carrier degradation in very large integrated circuits. A region wise-quadratic model is used to fit submicron transistor I-V curves. Using quasi-static models, ILLIADS-R accurately simulates hot-carrier damage in both pMOS and nMOS transistors of large scale ...

Interconnect simulation in a fast timing simulator ILLIADS-I

IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems I: Fundamental Theory and Applications, 1999
This paper presents a new technique to simulate RLC/RC interconnects and driving nonlinear circuits with high computational efficiency. We introduce ILLIADS-I, a fast transistor-level timing simulator for MOS circuits driving RLC/RC interconnects. The RLC/RC interconnect networks are reduced to an appropriate model and then simulated in the timing ...

A Fast-Timing Simulator for Digital MOS Circuits

IEEE Transactions on Computer-Aided Design of Integrated Circuits and Systems, 1986
An efficient and accurate algorithm has been developed for predicting the timing waveforms of general MOS transistor circuits. The algorithm uses a switch-level simulation technique to determine the steady-state conditions, a forward prediction method to predict the transient time between two adjacent voltage levels, a simplified timing simulation ...

Fast Timing Simulation for Circuit Reliability

1993
The simulation of long-term reliability of MOS VLSI circuits containing a large number of transistors becomes an important problem, as the density of VLSI chips increases with shrinking design rules. The development and use of accurate and efficient reliability simulation tools are therefore crucial for early assessment and improvement of circuit ...

Fast Time-Stepping Scheme for Streamline-Based Transport Simulations

ECMOR XVII, 2020
Summary In this work, we propose a new time-stepping method for the simulation of transport in two-phase flows. Our method relies on constant initial saturation conditions and builds on the streamline-based discretization. For example, in sampling methods such as multi-level Monte Carlo, many probable scenarios of an uncertain permeability field have ...

Investigating Effects of Controlled Flights through Fast-Time Simulation

2020 AIAA/IEEE 39th Digital Avionics Systems Conference (DASC), 2020
Departure flights at major U.S. airports are often subject to Traffic Management Initiatives to mitigate congestion and delay due to demand-capacity imbalances. These controlled flights can lead to inefficiency and delay on the airport surface. The integrated arrival, departure, and surface traffic management capabilities developed by NASA's Airspace ...

SystemwideModeler: A fast-time simulation of the NAS

2011 Integrated Communications, Navigation, and Surveillance Conference Proceedings, 2011
The National Airspace System (NAS) is a complex network of air transportation resources that serves tens of thousands of flights every day. The Next Generation Air Transportation System (NextGen) is intended to improve the performance of the NAS. To evaluate the aggregate and network effects of growing demand and NextGen improvements, analysts often ...

A new MOS circuit primitive for fast timing simulations

1991 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems (ISCAS), 1991
A new MOS circuit primitive, of which an inverter is a special case, is presented. The proposed MOS circuit primitive is shown to be more suitable for switch level and fast timing simulations than the commonly used inverter. The approach for obtaining the exact analytic transient solution of this general MOS primitive for piecewise-linear inputs is ...
