Fast charging of lead/acid batteries

Journal of Power Sources, 1993
Abstract A key point in the development of storage batteries for electric vehicles (Evs) is the possibility for fast recharging. It is widely recognized that the lead/acid system represents an excellent candidate for EVs because of the low cost, durability, and expectance of improvements in the near future.

Shakeoff induced by fast charged projectiles

Physical Review A, 1990
We derive a shakeoff-like expression for double ionization induced by fast charged projectiles that includes higher-order contributions of the Born series. The resulting shakeoff amplitude is about twice as large and has the opposite sign when compared to that of the shakeoff term defined by the first Born approximation.

Charge-changing processes involving fast low-charged ions

Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research Section A: Accelerators, Spectrometers, Detectors and Associated Equipment, 1998
Abstract The beam lifetimes and the charge-changing cross sections for fast many-electron systems, Mg1+, Ar2+, Pb29+, U4+, U10+ and U28+, were calculated in the energy range of 1–500 MeV/u and compared with experimental data recently obtained at SIS GSI. An agreement of the calculations with experimental data within a factor of 3 was obtained. It was

Multiple Scattering of Fast Charged Particles

Physical Review, 1949
The theory of multiple scattering of charged particles has been extended in the small-angle approximation valid for thin foils and fast particles. The extension consists of an exact solution of the integral diffusion equation for the correlated probabilities of lateral and angular displacements, and the numerical integration of the resulting expression

New Emerging Fast Charging Microscale Electrode Materials

Small, 2023
AbstractFast charging lithium (Li)‐ion batteries are intensively pursued for next‐generation energy storage devices, whose electrochemical performance is largely determined by their constituent electrode materials. While nanosizing of electrode materials enhances high‐rate capability in academic research, it presents practical limitations like ...

Fast-charging battery electrodes

C&EN Global Enterprise, 2019
If car companies could offer electric vehicles with batteries that recharged in the amount of time it takes to fill a gas tank, they might find a bigger market. Yi Cui, a battery chemist at Stanford University, believes lithium-ion battery anodes based on phosphorus could help realize this vision.
